CTF Room Conversion To New Tech Lab

Princeton Engineering Services, PC (PES) providing design and engineering services to convert the existing room 343 to a New Tech. Lab on the third floor of building X145 @ X593 South Bronx International Middle School.

The building was constructed in 1965 and is a reinforced concrete and steel building. X593 is approximately 155,000 square feet in area and it serves grades 06 and SE. There is no available Certificate of Occupancy for this School Building at the DOB website. There are four schools located in the building, the Urban Science Academy, New Millennium Business Academy Middle School, Alternative Learning Center and Success Academy Bronx Upper Charter School.

Located on the 3rd floor, the overall square footage shall include the existing storage closets and millwork areas for a total of 870 sq. ft. in Rm 343. The Technology Lab will be designed as a flexible space to allow another classroom use if needed. New furniture, millwork and cabinets will be provided to accommodate the workstations. The technology lab shall include 32 or as many as the space allows wireless mac laptops and associated workstations. The new Technology Lab will also include the existing ceiling, soffit & lighting along with a new Promethean IWB with PC laptop computer package. New whiteboards and tack boards will also be provided along with a one teacher station with chair and movable student desks/tables. The existing VCT flooring to be replaced as required.

In addition, the scope of work includes new power receptacles as per new room layout and SCA standards. One receptacle will be dedicated for laptop charging. The scope of work also includes four new data outlets for the new room layout. Data wires will terminate in MDF located in Rm 321. In addition, one new receptacle will be added for future AC unit and fed from existing panel L3-PN. A new drinking fountain will be electric and will be provided with a GFCI receptacle.
